The Wanda Culture Industry Group is China’s largest cultural enterprise, with registered capital totaling 5 billion yuan ($800 million), 44 billion yuan ($7 billion) in total assets and annual revenue of 25.5 billion yuan ($4 billion) for 2013. The group’s businesses span cinemas, film production, film industry parks, performing arts, film technology entertainment, theme parks, entertainment franchises, print media, art investment and travel.


Wanda Cinema Line currently operates 182 theatres, with a total of 1616 screens (including 117 IMAX screens) and commands a 14.5% share of the domestic box office. Wanda Cinema's shares are traded on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (002739.SZ) with a market cap exceeding 60 billion yuan as of January 2015.

Film Industry Parks

Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis, which covers an area of 200 hectares, is the world's only film and television industrial park where you'll find film and TV shooting, production, exhibition, and film tourism all in one place. After opening to the public in April 2017, it will host the Qingdao International Film Festival each year in September.

TV & Film Production

Wanda Media invests in more than 10 films each year. Its track record includes numerous blockbusters, among them "New Police Story 3", "Beijing Love Story", and the widely acclaimed “The Ghouls”.

Continental Film Distribution is a film distribution, marketing and planning company that plays a key role in Wanda’s film industry operations.

Performing Arts

In a bid to develop a Chinese culture brand with far-reaching global impact, Wanda is currently creating world-class stage shows in Xishuangbanna, Qingdao, Wuxi, Guangzhou and other Chinese cities. The first of these shows, known as the Han Show, premiered in Wuhan in December 2014.

Movie Parks

Wanda invested 3.5 billion yuan to build the world’s only movie park, which opened in Wuhan in 2014. Wanda is currently planning similar projects in Harbin, Wuxi, Nanchang, Hefei and Xishuangbanna.

Outdoor Theme Parks

Wanda is investing in developing world-class outdoor theme parks in Xishuangbanna, Harbin, Hefei, Nanchang, Wuxi, Guangzhou and other cities.

Indoor Theme Parks

Indoor theme parks will be constructed inside Wanda Mall developments across China. With this series of attractions, Wanda's in-house team has designed indoor theme parks in varying formats. They complement the company's outdoor theme park offerings and can be enjoyed by visitors in both good and bad weather.

Kids Entertainment

Wanda’s newest business model involves two kid-focused brands of educational entertainment parks: Wanda Kidsplace (2000-3000 square meters each) and Kids Park (7000-10000 square meters each). With 9 new locations planned in 2014 and a target of 400 locations by 2020, they are set to become China’s leading brands in kids entertainment.

Entertainment Franchises

Wanda is owner and operator of the “Superstar KTV” brand, China’s largest chain of karaoke venues. It currently operates 90 locations across the country.

Wanda operates the following weekly magazines: China Times and Popular Cinema.

Art Collecting

Wanda collects paintings and calligraphy by famous contemporary Chinese artists. Over the past 20 years, it has amassed close to 1000 works by various artists valued at more than 10 billion yuan. The group has represented China as an overseas cultural ambassador on numerous occasions.

Wanda Tourism

Wanda Beijing Tourism Investment Company is a key part of the company’s cultural tourism operations that steers tourists toward Wanda-owned cultural tourism attractions. The company booked revenue of 7.5 billion yuan in 2014.

Wanda Cultural Tourism Planning & Research Institute

Wanda Cultural Tourism Planning & Research Institute, a core part of Wanda’s culture and tourism industry business, is the only company in China specialized in design, research and development for cultural tourism projects. The Institute undertakes R&D and construction quality control for all Wanda cultural tourism projects.
